With Christmas only days away [insert: holy fucking god where the hell did 2011 go?!] I thought I’d post some of my big wants for the holidays just in case I have a secret sugar mama out there who’d like to throw down for any of these.
1) Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Mainly because it’s my favorite and well I’m out and it’s expensive.
2) The Black Swan Dress, Urban Outfitters
At the beginning of the month my girlfriend and I went into Urban looking for a holiday party outfit for her. While she successfully found a cute sweater/button-up option on sale for $30, I –of course– fell in love with this dress:
which I will just refer to as “The Black Swan Dress”
I would wear it for New Years Eve, and Valentines Day. And on special Thursdays. It’s pretty. It’s dark. It’s perfect!
3) A Red Leather biker/bomber jacket
Like this one from Nasty Gal
I’ve wanted a REAL leather jacket for years, but recently I’ve been increasingly drawn to the red leather. I think it stands out from the usual tough black leather jacket, and the chic (but not me) brown ones. As for white leather, it’s a bit too 80s for me to want THAT badly. What I love about this one is the faded red gives it that vintage look. It makes it versatile enough to be dressed up with a pretty dress (I would definitely put it with the “Black Swan”), or dressed down with jeans.
4) Eye Shadow from M.A.C
It jut goes so fast and there are so many great colors (like this special Metal X cream shadow by Gareth Pugh)
5) A set of Birds & Bows Plates, Urban Outfitters
I think I’ve officially hit the stage in my life where I want my OWN space. I want kitchen ware, and bedding, and prints that feel like me, and the 27 year old me, not the 23 year old me or the 19 year old me. It’s time for an upgrade.
6) A pair of tickets to Italy.
…Or anywhere really, but Italy would be the number one choice. The fashion, the countryside, the architecture, the coffee, I want I want I want. (& maybe I’d like to take someone with me. That would be nice.)
7) A heart. Tattooed on my finger.
I just want it ok. And no, not on my ring finger. And no it’s not a matching tattoo. I just want it. And I want Tina to do it. Tina’s stuff is actually amazing and I feel like asking her to do something this small is silly but it’s where I’m at tattoo-wise. Check out her work! I also want “yes I said yes I will Yes” tattooed on my ribs. And my cardinal.
Earrings, Necklaces, Tights and Scarves would also be nice.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and a fantastic Kwanza! And remember, while wish lists are great it’s so much more about the amazing people in your life that you get to spend the holidays with. I haven’t looked forward to a Christmas in a really long time. Thank you 2011 for that.
